He felt she didn't understand the situation, course she didn't know much about what was going on and wondered if he should explained more why she couldn't come along. This isn't like fighting those guys yesterday, this guy is out on control. ...and his not a normal human. He explained and hoped that she would understand the dangers better. If this was a human, it would have been taken care of by now but this was a pluse.
He normally didn't reveal himself to people. I don't need to be worrying about you while getting this guy, hell hurt you believe me I know he hurt one of my guys and trashed my shop." He said. He wasn't saying she was weak, but he felt that she was underestimating the situation and that can get you killed.

Not a normal human. Like me, but worse? Jackie stood in the kitchenette with her back to the counter. She wasn't too sure what the deal was, but understood that he had the final say about it. She couldn't possibly fathom how bad it could be but just thinking the damage she had if she wasn't in control was enough to make her cringe. She thought out her words wisely. Okay so he knows more about what I need to know. Maybe now is not the time to get into it all of that. Her head nodded as he continued his reasoning to why she shouldn't attend. "Alright. Makes sense." She backed down a bit and walked over to the couch again.
Her legs folder under here as she sat down. She wondered what kind of shop he had. But she also figured if he wanted her to know he'd tell her. They sat in silence for a little bit as the wacky sounds coming from the cartoons filled the void. "Maybe when you aren't hunting for super humans we can have a little chat about what the world is really like, because I'm in the dark here. If you couldn't tell." She blurted out and rolled her eyes at how naive she was. It's not like she could ask anyone else and knowledge is power.
The phone buzzed in her pocket. She assumed it was Jerry's response but to her surprise it was Jerry's number but Bobby's attitude. You can't just run out on your family like that Jackie. You know anyone causing you trouble will have to deal with us too. Call your brother back. She sighed and stuffed the phone back into her pocket once again. Her fingers grazed the scars on her hands, she massaged them as her mind went wandering. Bobby is such a brute sometimes. If I can't handle things, then they won't be able to and they would probably die because of me.

He was glad that she wasn't going to argue with him on the matter. When it came to something like this, it was better to work alone and not have anyone involved. He turned his attention back to the TV show as the road runner tricked the coyote into running of a cliff. If only it was that easy. He leaned his head back, eyes close when the sound of thunder made him look out the open balcony door. The sun was up now but dark clouds started to roll in. It wasn't even mid day and it was already starting to storm.
He looked to her when she asked if he could include her in what exactly was going on in the world. Well what exactly would you want to know....theres alot that goes on around here that not many people know off. He said. With it getting ready to rain, there wasn't much point in going out and looking for the plude and was beginning to think that maybe he should cut his losses and just go after this guy another time. Their were to many factors playing against him at the moment and rain would only wash away any scent and if he could find any, any physical evidence.

"I guess it'll be easier to say what I know. Obviously, I'm not a normal girl." Jackie paused and sat forward. "When I was back home I ran into this monster in an alley. He had sharp teeth and claws, it almost looked like a werewolf. So after the altercation I tried to research a bit more about what was going on. Which led me here. So I know that there are people like me out there, among other non-human races. But that's pretty much it." She could only assume that Ev was either superhuman or non-human. The thought only grazed the service of her mind. I never thought he could be something besides superhuman. Not that I know of what else is out there. What if he was a werewolf? Her eyes wandered to him as he looked off to the balcony. If he wanted to do something to me, he would've done it already. Right?
She stood up and walked to the balcony. The constant battle of who to trust is the reason why Jackie found herself alone all the time. She lets her thoughts cloud her judgement sometimes. But when it came to Ev, he had more than proven himself to her. There was no need to have worried thoughts run through her head. The rain created a familiar feeling in her gut. Reminiscent of home. She wanted to keep the doors open and let in the sweet rain smell. Although thinking about it, this meant that it would be harder for Ev to go out. "I couldn't imagine tracking someone down in this weather." She turned to him, catching him in what looked like the same thought process.

He knew she was a pluse when he first met her. One of the good things about being a vampire was that one could usually sense right away what a being was. He listened to her tell him alittle bit about her back story. Yeah I could sense that you were what the world calls pluses, there humans who have special abilities. He told her, not sure if she even knew that. You could only find so much with limited resources such as a internet or human library books. He wondered if she knew anything about her kind revealing themselves and a war that lasted for years.
He only nodded at her statement on the weather. Yeah I wouldn't be able to track him and I am not a fan of driving my bike in the rain. He said and stood up, looking out the balcony window door. Your cheek looks better, hope it doesn't scar. He said and headed to his room to put on a wife beater.

"Why could you sense me and I couldn't sense you?" Jackie caught the context clues of his statement. humans who have special abilities. She assumed that since he didn't group himself in the mix that he wasn't a plus like her. This didn't alarm her or set her in a panic. She grabbed her notebook and sat back down on the couch. Her hand brushed against her face at his comment. "Yeah, I guess another perk of being me. I'm pretty sure it won't scar. I haven't really developed many scars over the the past couple of years." Again she assumed it was because of her super human abilities that made her that way.
She jotted notes on the next empty page. It was like she was a blank slate and she longed for all the information to fill it up. As desperate as she was to know what Ev's race was, Jackie knew there was respectable way to go about it asking him. It'll have to happen naturally and on his time. Another thing they had in common. Jackie was one stubborn girl, especially when it came to personal matters. She pounder how she would go about asking the next question. "What other races are there besides human and plus? Is it possible that I actually saw a werewolf in Detroit?" Her hunch was that Ev had some information but not everything. And although she was curious about the subject, it might not be his favorite topic of conversation.
It was like she was his student, ready to jot down any information that could be helpful. As long as he was willing to give it up. It was obvious to her that if this trait was hereditary, she must have gotten it from her real parents. She wasn't sure if any of her brothers had similar attributes or even were aware of what was going on. They knew that Jackie was different, stronger than all of them, but were they unaware of what lurked in the allies of their town.

Different species have different smells to them. You smell like a pluse so I naturally come to the conclusion that you are. He said and sat down in the recliner again. Did she really not know of anything. He knew immediately what he was and had to control himself and learn on his own. Maybe she hadn't met any other pluses and that's why she didn't know of her kind or the supernatural world.
Theres demons, vampires, werewolves or shapeshifters, deities, elves and fae, angels, witches and other creatures that I'm sure will surface sooner or later." He said.
He was sure she didn't know of the war. Do you know of the war that happened a few years back? Pluses revealed themselves to humans and lands were divided." He added.

Jackie jotted down everything Ev was saying. It sounded like fiction to her ears but she had to adjust to this being the real world. The real world outside of her little bubble she'd been apart of. She smirked a little knowing that Ev has yet to share his secret with her. Her mind didn't linger on that for too long after he mentioned the war. "My kind and regular humans don't get along? I could never tell of who people were when I was back home." She took a moment and thought that maybe not everyone looked like her. She didn't know the lengths of what kind of powers people could have.
"I must have been living in an area where human based races were divided. I think I would've noticed an elf walking around Detroit." She thought out loud. According to fairy tales and horror stories she knew, vampires, demons, and werewolves all tend to have a human form. This would make it hard for just a human to spot them unless certain circumstances rose. Not all stories were the same, each had different sets of rules and regulations. "I wonder what witches are like. I'm going to assume they are more like Salem witches than halloween witches." She continued to verbalize her thought process.
All of this interested Jackie. She looked down to her notebook and reread everything she wrote down. It was like Ev was opening her eyes to a new light, a new take on the world she thought she knew so well. "I'm surprised no one has taken out the humans yet. Not that I want to but I can see how to some races or creatures would think they are like free meals walking around."
