Jackie's thought process was interrupted by Ev. He grabbed her backpack and they walked around the back. "A suite?" She muttered as they went through the shmoozy back entrance. Her eyes pillaged the hallway. She couldn't believe what she was walking through. Jackie only stayed in a hotel like this one other time and she snuck into it. In her mind she felt like this was way out of her league. They road the elevator up and found the room. After the grand reveal, Jackie couldn't keep her jaw from the current drop position. "Uhm, I was totally okay with just a couch by the way. You seriously didn't need to get a 2 bedroom hotel suite. It's not too late to change it right?" Her face felt flush and her eyes were very wide.
Before she could do anything else, her hand pulled the nearest chair closer to her and she plopped down in it. Her vision began to blur from the tears forming. Oh my god. Don't cry. Are you serious? Her internal dialogue forced her to do a literal face-palm and she shook her head. How embarrassing. After a heavy sigh and not having a complete melt down, Jackie didn't want to make eye contact with Ev. "Why have you been so nice to me? All I've done since I met you was make you spend your money and get you into a fight." Besides the gash on her face, she felt very warm and her face was very red from the range of emotions soaring through her.
Her hand held the bandana up to her face to her wound. Secretly she wanted it to catch the stray tears before she looked up at Ev. I can't dip out on him because he's already spending all this money for the room. Just stick it out and don't be a burden. Stop crying and being all emotional. Let him do his thing and don't get in his way. Maybe he wanted a bit of company. Jackie felt that the both of them had clicked right away and that he was somewhat familiar to her. But it still made her feel like shit, putting him through all of her bs.

This was the only room that was available. He said and laid the card on the table before going to one of the rooms and tossed his two bags on the bed before grabbing a face wash cloth and wetting it with cold water before going back to where Jax was sitting. He took off his jacket and even his shirt, underneath was a white wife beater and took his boots off.
He could sense emotions swirling up inside of her and didn't really know how to take that and didn't know what the problem was. He saw tears brimming her eyes but thought that maybe she was just hurt and that was the problem. He knelt down infront of her, gently placing the cold towel against her cheek and cleaned the dried blood before gently pressing the cold cloth against her cheek again.
Its not a big deal.... He said.
He saw the stray tears and stood up then. I'll be leaving soon have to take care of some business. He said and headed out to the balcony to smoke.

Jackie took a deep breath. The cold cloth felt good on her warm face. "Thanks." She said as she composed herself and took the cloth from his hand. As he walked outside, Jackie dabbed her face and got up from the chair. After wiping the tears away, she grabbed a glass of water and met Ev on the balcony. She just needed the smell of the water with a hint of the cigarette smoke. Her elbows rested on the balcony as she took small sips of the water.
The water glistened under the pale moonlight. The view was quite wonderful. In the distance she could see the lights from what she assumed was the Golden Gate bridge. Since she had never been to any US coast, she was grateful to have such a view. Her eyes closed once more to take in the scents around her. The cool air brushed over her face and her wound, calming her down and relaxing her.
She didn't want to address what happened inside there and it seemed like he was over it. Nonetheless she felt like she needed to apologize. "Sorry about what happened in there. I try to keep the crazy at bay." After a few more sips Jackie turned to Ev and said "You have business this late, huh?" She tried to not butt into his business but wanted to try to set things back to the way they were. If he's just like me then he'd probably want to be alone for a while. Just let him be. She offered her help once more before she slowly retired from the balcony back inside. "If you need help in any way, you can always ask me."
Jackie sat on the couch and held the glass of ice to her forehead. She pulled a small notebook from her backpack and put the pen in her mouth as she closed the bag. All she wanted to do was rest but her mind was constantly going and the splitting headache wouldn't allow for rest either. After pulling her legs up Jackie curled up with her notebook and began to write. It didn't have to make sense but it took all the bad thoughts out and put them in a place where they couldn't do harm.

Were all women emotional? He almost wanted to ask, but decided to just keep that question to himself and took a long drag. He would be out for a few hours, he needed to get on the trail again and get some idea where that asshole went. If the guy thought he could get out of attacking his employees and seriously wounding them, then he had another thing coming. He didn't look at her when she joined him out on the balcony. He put out the cigarette now and flicked it into a ash tray on a small table.
Its ok...shit happens I don't really do well with feelings and crying. He said.
He made a soft sound of acknowledgement while she went back to the couch. He then came back inside and she seem to be stable now. He grabbed the keys to his bike and left. He finally caught onto a trail and followed it for a couple of hours before it went dead again. Damn, how was this guy able to do this? He headed back to the hotel, he needed a shower after this. He locked the door behind him and took off his shirt, heading to the bathroon.

Jackie shrugged at Ev's comment as she was writing in the notebook. Without saying anything Ev left the hotel room and went about his business. She kept writing in her notebook. After an hour of writing, her eyelids began to feel heavy. She placed the notebook on the couch and went to the bathroom to clean up before heading to rest. After cleaning up her wound, showering, and brushing her teeth, Jackie grabbed her notebook and headed to the balcony to write a little bit more. On her way to the balcony, she decided to change into her pjs. This happened to be just an oversized shirt from one of her brothers.
As she gripped the notebook close to her, Jackie sat down at the table outside. Her mind began to slow down a little bit. It's been a pretty hard day. To say the least. The pen she was holding couldn't muster to write another word. She caught herself falling asleep out on the balcony. Her nose picked up the smell of the early hours of the morning. Unsure when Ev would be coming back, Jackie left the balcony, locked it behind her, and drew the curtains. I don't want it to be too bright in here, in case he comes back really late.
She picked up all her belongings and placed them on the desk inside her room. Jackie never had as much space to call her own like this before. It was a good thing she didn't own too much. Just one leather bag full of the essentials. Before snuggling into bed, she went to refill her glass of water and placed it on her nightstand. One light was left on in the living room area and her door was left open, just so she would know that Ev was back safe and alone.
Just a few minutes after she settled into bed, she heard the door open. Jackie quietly rose from her bed and stood in the doorframe. She watched Ev peel off his shirt and head to the bathroom. Instead of bombarding him with questions, she just nodded with a smile. "G'night." Now that she knew that he returned safe, Jackie decided to leave her door open. She returned to bed, closed her eyes and brought the blanket closer to her for comfort incase the usual horrific memories haunt her dreams.

He looked to the bedroom when he heard her. His eyes took in what she was wearing and quickly turned his head away. Night. He said back and closed the bedroom door. He turned the shower on, peeling off the remainer of his cloths and stepped in. The hot water felt great against his skin. If he were still human, he would have been fatigue and maybe even sore but it only relaxed his somewhat tight muscles.
After a ten minute hot shower, he turned the shower head off and grabbed a towel. He wrapped one around his waist and the other was in his hair. He rubbed the excess water from his shaggy hair before opening the bathroom door. He stood out in the hallway for a moment as the cold air hit his skin, making hin sigh softly and wiped his face dry. It was already in tge early hours of the morning. It surprised him how time had flew by.

Jackie jerked awake. Her memories had riddled her dreams; some pleasant, some horrific. After a few blinks her eyes focused on the alarm clock across the room. 7:30am. Her curiosity gravitated her to the mirror. Her once very swollen face seemed to be doing a lot better. A significant amount better. Little to no bruising and even though the cut was still there it looked like had been sealed up for at least half a day or so without needing stitches. Holy shit. This is pretty awesome. Her hand raised and poked around her cheek for a bit. Didn't really hurt as much as it was a bit sore. Nothing a few drugs can help.
Her phone laid out on the desk. Jackie slid it open and noticed the missed call from Jeremiah. She remembered it was her niece's birthday yesterday and he was probably calling to remind her. She missed her brothers so much. I'll give him a call in a little bit. Knowing that now would not be the best time to call her brother, she decided to get her day started. It's not like I'm going to be able to go back to bed anyway.
She peered into the hallway checking to see if Ev's door was open. Nope, closed. Jackie emerged out of her room with her head down and one hand rubbing her eye. As she was on her way to the bathroom she didn't notice Ev standing in the hallway. Smack. Jackie ran right into Ev and his towel. She could help but look at the man standing right in front of her. Her eyes bulged as embarrassment hit her like a pile of bricks. After quickly examining the interior design of the room, Jackie blurted a sentence that didn't sound quite like english. "ohmygodimsosorryiwasntevenlooking." Instead of moving out of the way, Jackie stood there and looked at the ceiling.

He didn't really hear Jax getting up, He was rubbing the water from his ears and looked out to the balcony. The sun was barely coming up over the horizon, the water looked blue against the pink and blue sky. He was normal up and about around this time. His sight seeing was cut short when someone ran into him. He caught his towel just in time, but the tie unraveled and he had to hold the towel againt himself so a certain part wasnt seen and blushed some when it was Jax that had bumped into him.
He was almost stunned and just hurried to his bedroom and shut the door. He leaned against the door, rubbing his eyes. She almost saw him naked. Hell his towel loosen alot and if he hadn't grabbed it, it would have showed everything. He wasn't sure how much she had actually seen and dried off quickly, putting on some boxers and jeans.

She quickly ran into the bathroom and slammed the door behind her. The mirror reflected her red face as she laughed to herself. She closed her eyes and put her hand to her face. Oh my god. She felt terrible again. It's like I'm a walking disaster. Now realizing that she trapped herself in the bathroom with just a t-shirt on and no pants, panic struck her. Well I guess this is what I get for nearly ripping the mans towel right off. She awkwardly laughed to herself again. Her early morning activities took her a little longer this morning. Jackie wanted to prolong them as much as possible.
When she was finished, her hand opened the door quickly and her legs scurried her into her room. Instantly, Jackie face-palmed and started to get dressed. She slid on her tight skinny jeans, a black baby-tee and her trusty leather boots. Well, gotta face the man sometime. She wedged the phone into her pocket and opened the door. The smell of the cigarette gave a clue that he was on the balcony, probably chain smoking. Jackie laughed to herself and walked out of the room. She admired the half naked man on her balcony before joining him.
Her head laid on her hand as she rested her arm on the balcony facing the water. Her big baby blues looked at him from the corner of her eyes as she gave a big grin. Trying not to be too awkward, Jackie started to laugh a little bit about the situation. She cleared her throat but through the harmless giggling all she could say was, "So...uhm...sorry bout that..."

Once he was dressed, he headed to the balcony for a nice and much needed smoke. Their wasn't anyone out on the beach yet. The waves were very nice and relaxing. He did enjoy the sound of the beach, growing up where he did all he heard was the sound of animals. He took a long drag, blowing the smoke out into the air as his blue eyes scoped out his surroundings before he heard her joining him.
He leaned on the balcony on his arms and turned around to face her. He had a few tattoos on his body. One on his chest and two on his arms and two on his shoulder. His shaggy dark hair hung in his eyes and it took all he could to look her in the eyes. It's fine.....hope I didn't burn your eyes. He said, flicking the ashes in the ash tray and picked up the pack. Know you need one. He said, opening it up and handed her one.

"You got me there." Jackie took a cigarette from his pack and lit the cigarette with her lighter. After a deep inhale she let it sit in her lungs for a bit before she exhaled through the side of her mouth. "And for the record, nothing burned my eyes." She said hiding a smile as she turned her attention from the water to him. Her eyes traveled from one tattoo to another. "Another thing we have in common." She displayed her arms, which were accented with tattoos as well. She is usually wearing her jacket or a long sleeve shirt, but due to the climate change she will have to show off her art more often.
She took another long drag from the cigarette as she continued to analyze his tattoos. It annoyed her so much when people would bother her about the meanings of her tattoos, if she wanted you to know she'd tell you. That's why Jackie wasn't going to ask him why he has the ones he has. She just liked to take a look into someone else's world. That person chose those images or words for a reason and it was there for them, not for you to know. She respected it.
As much as she probably wouldn't admit it to him, or at least not yet, she totally went for guys his type. Not that she ever had a chance for dating but all the guys that she had a thing for were kinda cut the same way; scruffy, tough, loner. Except, Ev had something special about him that she couldn't put her finger on. Maybe if we continue down this road, we will get to know each other a little bit better... besides me almost making him naked. Jackie wanted to break the silence with a sledge hammer. "How did everything go last night? ... not that it's my business." She reminded herself aloud.

He cleared his throat when she said that nothing burn her eyes. He tried not to blush and squished out his cigarette. He sat down then, looking up at her now. He looked at her tattoos. His devil on his calf was a symbol of his dark side, the latin prayer was a prayer his mother use to tell him, that was located on his shoulder. The others had only a little meaning, they didn't have any deep rooted meaning to them. He had a feeLing she was one of those people that didn't like to be asked, so he only let his eyes roam over her arms.
Went ok, didn't finish it though so I'll have to go back today." He said.
He got up again, looking down at the beach at a few girls waving and giving very flirty suggestions. Pff as if. He mumbled and went inside to put on a dark green button shirt that was sleeveless.

Jackie noticed his not so subtle throat clear after her comment. She looked away as a smile crept across her face. The sun started to reflect off the water and beach goers flooded the sand. She heard his short remark about having to go out again today. This is my chance to give him a hand, and possibly redeem myself. As she killed the cigarette and laughed at the sarcasm about the beach bimbos, Jackie followed him inside but left the doors open for a breeze.
She entered the kitchenette area and started to brew some coffee. Wasn't too sure if he wanted a cup so she made enough for two. She figured if he really wanted a cup he'd grab it himself. After the coffee had finished, Jackie dumped sugar and artificial creamer into the mug, basically whatever was stocked in the cabinets. The smell of the coffee floated through the air and into every room. It was a smell she found to be refreshing and hopped Ev did too.
After climbing onto the couch and hugging her mug, Jackie turned to Ev and asked, "So, I know you need to go back out today. Do you want me to tag along, maybe give you a hand? My schedule is open indefinitely until my guitar is fixed. And let's be honest, I owe you one." She put the mug down in response to the vibration she felt coming from her buttpocket. It was a text from Jeremiah. Jax, where have you been? No one has been able to reach you. She slid the phone closed and set it on the couch next to her. Her eyes lingered on the phone before looking up at Ev for a response.

He sat down in the recliner, tUrning on the tv and the news immediately came on. Sure enOugh,, they covered a story about a bar fight yesterday that had gone wrong. Three of the four patrons were found outside, unconcious and beaten up pretty good. The men claim a pretty dark hair girl and a man im his early fourties with brown shaggy hair and a goatee were the perpertrators. Everett looked to her for a moment, knowing the story was about what had happen at the bar yesterday and listened even mOre. Their were no witnesses to the altercation and there was no video or picture evidence. Guess they were safe unless they draw a composite sketch of Jax and him.
Only one night in San Francisco and you already made the news, Jackie-chan. He said as the story switched to a new one and he turned the channel to something else like cartoons.
He watched as Bugs Bunny outsmarted that bald hunter. He looked to Jax again and cocked an eyebrow at her offer. There was no way he could take her with him. This was dangerous and he didn't want her getting hurt. The reason why I'm here is that I'm tracking someone down....this person is really dangerous. He said.

Jackie listened to the report. As Ev looked over to her a cheesy grin was plastered on her face. "Well, not that this is an excuse, shit like that happened all the time at home. There were no news reports about it." Her eyes rolled as she continued to drink her coffee. Damn news. I guess I'll have to be careful now. The channel was quickly switched over to the old fashioned cartoons, where violence was acceptable. She heard him out and nodded. "Don't you think 2 against 1 would be better odds?" Jackie pushed a little bit. She didn't want to come off as annoying but now that she knew that what he was doing could be possibly dangerous, half of her wanted to tag along for the fun and the other half wanted to make sure he'd be okay.
He probably doesn't want to worry about himself and me. Which can be distracting, especially if you're trying to find someone. I don't even need to know what the situation is, extra backup would be ideal in a situation like that. Or bait, I could be bait. All these thoughts ran through her head as she finished her coffee. Her fingers played with the phone on the couch as she was stuck in her thoughts. "I'd understand if you wouldn't want to worry about my safety as well as yours. But we get along pretty well and having a bit of back up could come in handy." Her eyes gazed over to Ev as he watched the road runner lead the coyote into a trap.
Before she went anywhere, Jackie knew she had to respond to Jeremiah. I'll call him later, but at least I can shoot him a text. She grabbed the phone and slid it open. Her fingers raced across the keyboard. Hey Jerry. Sorry I missed Tonya's birthday yesterday. I bet she looked as pretty as can be. I had to get out of town, tell everyone I'm okay. I'll give you a call when I can. After closing the phone, Jackie shoved it in her pocket and got up to wash her mug.
