The Cup Overfloweth
A lot has happened over the past few weeks, dear readers.
First off, I must apologize for my lengthy absence. Though I cannot leave my manor, I do get uninvited guests from time to time, guests who must be dealt with. Recently, said guests have been cultists; apparently, they thought that using me as sacrifice would give them ample energy to summon my father to wreak havoc.
They forgot whose grandchild they were dealing with.
It took some weeks to properly dispose of them, but that is of little importance and littler matter to you, my readers. You are here for the news, and I was born to report the news, however dull of a life purpose that may seem. And so, I will report.
Is it just me, readers, or does the lovely Angelic Knight Jophiel have an issue with spilling frozen treats? First literal five-headed dragon Lucretia Matthews, and then the trickster god Loki Laufeyjarson... Perhaps she simply needs to work on her hand-eye coordination. I hear some video games can be a vast help with those sorts of things.
Speaking of the Norse trickster, he and Fenrir were seen embracing in the streets in London. Unsurprising, due to their long being away from one another, and Loki's attachment to all of his children -- but everyone knows how the tale goes. Once the Fenris Wolf is free of his fetters, the end for us is nigh. It's unfortunate, I live quite close to London. I'd hate to see it go.
Readers, recently the vampire Gabe dos Santos was stalking Toronto for every vampire's favorite meal. Unfortunately for him, his prey, Caoimhe "Kiva" Delwen, was much more excited than frightened to have him corner her. Currently, it is unknown to me how the encounter panned out, but I am sure both parties are unscathed -- and certain parties are probably much hungrier than they'd like to be.
Partners in crime Banjo and Kazooie are at it again, but this time, it looks like they're encountering the notorious Bridget Cassidy instead of any old, long-dead foes. Mrs. Cassidy is known for her cooking as well as her overly intimidating presence, and there seems to have been some miscommunications that will only prove to worsen her temper. Hopefully, however, this will end happily for all parties.
Kazooie was also seen flirting with Jareth King, of all fae -- who, did I mention, readers, is back on our fair realm? The singer did a lovely set at the pub The Hair of the Dog in Dublin, and it is said that he will stick around to perform for another week. Be sure to see him while you can. I've heard he's quite the charmer.
Readers, is it true what I hear, that the mighty Thor was defeated in arm wrestling by a mere human, Ryker Thorsen? Firstly: of course it is true, I watched it with my own eye. Secondly: is Thor going soft, readers? It's hard to imagine a warrior like him, as competitive as he and his people are, simply letting someone win. But then, it's also hard to imagine he would let himself go like that, with all signs pointing towards Ragnarok.
Fenrir -- whom, as previously started, is a harbinger of said destruction to come -- found himself in the friendly company of Kazara Sellars just the other night. Both seem to have a thing for revenge; this does not bode well for the community at large.
Dear, dear, dear. Rafael Ramón de Leon cannot seem to keep his business to himself, can he? His actions -- bedding the fallen angel and powerful demon Tamiel, namely -- have caused a bit of a cat fight in his thrall's bakery, the Puzzle Piece. While Tamiel tried to calm Aleena Leatherby down, the Plus was not having it, and threw the poor, handsome man through her bakery door. Do I detect jealously, readers? Or, perhaps, protectiveness? Or, perhaps... both? There have long been rumors of unkindled feelings between Rafael and Aleena, but now that they have gone down this road, I'm unsure if they ever will inflame.
Another reason they may not: Aleena Leatherby has found herself kidnapped by Mandy, aided, however unwillingly, by the shapeshifter Ty Fisher. Councilman Devyn Hardwick is driving himself crazy over the situation, and, readers... truthfully, I fear for the poor girl. They have pulled a Leech -- that is, a Plus whose power is draining other powers -- on her, and she is helpless to stop them. Aleena is a lovely, lovely woman, from what I have seen of her, and she and Rafael Ramón de Leon's "forbidden" romance has been something of a favorite of mine. Let us all hope for her safe return; pray to whatever gods you keep, if you keep any at all.
I will try and be more punctual with further updates, readers. Please be sure to keep yourselves safe.
