She had not been on the human realm in many years now.
Perhaps it had been ten, or perhaps it had been twenty. Truthfully, Elizabeth wasn't sure. Damien was content on keeping his wife by his side, and Elizabeth was content to spend her days be his side. Though her life had started off more complicated than she had ever wanted it to be, she had grown to find the life laid out for her more to her liking than the life of a lady. Hell, if she had spent the normal life of a lady, then she would have been dead by now, and so would her children. And even her children's children.
But that wasn't the case. She was the wife of a Half-God, and she was immortal by his hand. He had taken her into the stars, where she had borne forth his children; children that explored the stars and wrote and studies life. And though Elizabeth did all the things normal wives of her time did -- such as knitting, crocheting, quilting and reading -- she was also... a bit more than a normal wife.
Over a hundred years into their marriage, Elizabeth and Damien still had quite the rousing sex life.
But that was not why she was visiting earth that day. Her dear child, Angel, had lived in England for almost a hundred and seventy-five years now, and things were becoming too much. Well, not necessarily too much for zir, but apparently the humans around zir were beginning to go insane if they were in zir presence for too long. After Damien's assurance that she would be safe, Elizabeth decided to visit her oldest child.
She did not bother knocking on the door, but instead chose to use her key to allow herself in. Angel wouldn't mind; zie never did. After all, Elizabeth was zir mother. They had a bond as thick as thieves -- at least, that's what Elizabeth liked to think. She really wanted to think that Angel was still that close to her.
"Angel?" she called, shutting and locking the door behind her. "Angel, your mother's home!"

NOTES [ notes here if any ] | Angel Adams sat at zir laptop, third eye flicking around wildly as zir other two eyes squinted at the screen, the annoyance clearly obvious on zir face. Two weeks, and zie couldn't figure out how to delete the damned audio post that CopyCat had decided to slap on zir blog without zir permission. Angel had trained zirself in computer programming, in coding, in website design, but something the demon had done had made it bloody impossible to erase her harassment of Angel off of the internet. The creature gritted zir teeth in frustration, zir knuckles white as zir hands clenched into fists.
The annoyance had begun about a year back, when Cat's blog had first hit the internet. Angel didn't mind competition; zie never had. Before, zie'd never even had a reason to acknowledge competition. But Cat had started calling zir out in the comments section of zir posts, and then started to call zir out on her own blog – somehow managing to misgender zir as male damned near every time she did, though Angel wasn't sure for the life of zir what exactly zie was doing to come off as masculine. The situation had escalated more, and then, one day, Cat had just appeared in Angel's home. That was grounds for being ripped apart; the cultists in Angel's basement could attest to that.
But no. Instead, Cat had recorded a podcast without permission and somehow permanently imbedded it on Angel's website.
Angel took a sip of zir coffee, a grumbling noise resonating from zir throat.
"Angel? Angel, your mother's home!"
Zie jumped, nearly spilling zir drink all over the front of zir shirt. Zie hadn't expected zir mother to arrive today, though zie'd sensed that she was going to be paying zir a visit sometime soon. Had zie known an exact time, zie might have been able to dress in something more presentable than a monocled octopus t-shirt and sweatpants with a galaxy pattern. Oh, well. Zie didn't have time to change, now. At the very least, zir nails were done rather well in a nice, deep blue color, so that might earn zir some points. Zie sighed and stood, calmly walking out of zir office and making zir way to the top of the stairs, mug still in hand.
“Mother.” Zir voice was calm, as was zir face, as always, not a single emotion betrayed. Zie'd always had issues expressing zirself, and on top of that, zie rarely every felt anything excessively, which made things harder. It made some people think zir cold, but zie liked to think zir mother understood. “I didn't know you would be here today. It's good to see you.” Zie made her way down the stairs, tilting zir head a bit. “Come, I'll make you something. Do you want tea? Coffee? It's been a long time.”

Elizabeth squealed as soon as she saw her child.
"Oh, let me look at you! Go on, turn around. Let me see your-- Oh, I love the pants. Do you think your sister would like a pair for her birthday?"
It had been several years, and yet Angel had not changed one bit. Zir hair was still cut the same, zir eyes the same color -- not a single thing had changed. Perhaps Angel enjoyed this appearance; not that Elizabeth could blame zir. Zir was a mighty beautiful child, if she couldn't help but brag. All of her children were beautiful, no matter what human form they took.
"Tea would be lovely, actually," she replied, before pulling Angel into a hug. Reaching up, she began to fiddle with Angel's hair, shifting it this way and that before she finally decided on a style she liked. If there was any doubt that she was Angel's mother, it was gone now. "But I can brew it, if you don't mind. I haven't been in this house in a long, long time."
That much was true. As much as Elizabeth loved the old house, her place was with her husband. Damien was a good man, but he was also protective and, in his protectiveness, had dragged Elizabeth from her home to another plane of existence. It was all for a good cause; it kept Elizabeth young and alive for so long as Damien was around. But traveling between the worlds took a lot of energy from her, and so she was only ever ale to visit occasionally.
At least, that was what she told herself. In truth, she loved her husband too much to leave his side for longer than a day. Most of the time when she visited her children, it was for several days or even a week. It was just too hard for her to be separated from him for too long.
"How have you been, my love?"
