HEIGHT:: 6' 7"

SKIN:: Olive
DISTINGUISHING MARKS::
His shoulder was mauled from an attack by a werelion. [Click here for the scar.] He also has a number of wounds from where he survived multiple alligator attacks. His right leg is a prosthetic leg.
APPEARANCE::
Jackson is an attractive man; there's no denying that. He's quite tall for a guy, almost reaching seven feet, though his body is muscled from years of working with his father. He has more of a rugged look to him, kept up by his shaggy black hair and stubble. Though he tries to say he cares nothing for his appearance, it's funny how his jawline always seems to have the perfect amount of stubble. Beneath the stubble, he has a bit of a baby face, especially when he pouts. He prefers to look intimidating.
His clothing style is very simple: jeans and whatever shirt he can find, even if the shirt isn't exactly the cleanest. Clean clothes were considered a luxury in the house Jackson grew up in, and he has learned how to make due. Beneath his clothes, Jackson is married with scars, including a bite mark from an alligator and a scar from the lion that turned him. He also lost his leg in the fight. His animal form is missing its back, right leg.
PERSONALITY::
Let's be fair here, Jackson acts about as rough as he looks. He was born and raised on the bayou in Louisiana, which means he knows a thing or two about having to survive with nothing. Because of this, he is very gruff to those he meets, at least until he gets to know them. (This is, of course, excluding those he sees as "ladies," as he was raised to be a "proper gentleman.") Jackson is quick to snap, having gotten into more than one fight in his life because of this, and also quick to rebel.
Due to growing up in a religious home, this werelion is a very religious being, though he's not sure exactly what his religion is. He grew up Southern Baptist, but at the same time, he grew up smoking and drinking and killing things to survive. After being bitten by a werelion, Jackson has discovered the Were Religion, but has not gotten brave enough to branch out into it yet. He's so afraid of hell that he is willing to risk his happiness to save his soul.
It's important to mention that, actually. All through his life, Jackson was bullied by his father to become a man just like him. Due to his father's influence, Jackson has become a bit of a hypocrite, spouting the Bible and trying to teach the Word, but only the bits his father thought were important. He cares nothing for whores or gays or anything out of what Richard might consider normal. In fact, when Jackson says "My Father," one wonders if he's actually talking about God, or Richard.
Despite the love he shows his father, Jackson is actually terrified of Richard and has come to develop the biggest "fight" instinct. Instead of debating between flight and fight, Jackson developed his father's desire to fight those who he might be able to crush. Whenever threatened, Jackson will not back down, even if it appears he might be killed.

HISTORY::
Jackson was the son his father always wanted. After four girls, Margueritte and Richard Ashwood finally produced Jackson, a healthy bouncing baby boy. From the moment he was born, Jackson was overwhelmed by love from his family; from his mother, from his sisters, and most importantly from his father. (To be fair, it is worth noting that Richard was far more in love with the idea of having a son than his own son, but that's a story for another day.)
For the first few years of his life, Jackson was in total happiness. He had loving parents and sisters who adored him, at least until they started disappearing and running away. When Jackson was seven, however, a new surprise came into the world: his little sister, Victoria. Jackson fell in love with the little girl the moment he saw her and dedicated his life to teaching and protecting her. It was not an uncommon sight to see Jackson reading to Tori and trying to lead her around.
But things changed when Jackson neared his preteen years. Richard, realizing his son was now old enough to help his business, took Jackson out onto the boat. From the time he was ten, Jackson was hunting alligators and hauling them onto land. Though he enjoyed helping his father, there was no doubt that the time alone with Richard left the boy a little different than before. No longer did he love his sisters as people; instead, he saw them as his father: as objects. Even Tori, who had fallen in love with, was now just someone they had to trade off.
But there was a darker secret beneath his tough exterior. Jackson, despite being his father's golden child, was not free from Richard's abuse. But whereas Tori and his sisters were able to buck, Jackson conformed. He became the little monster his father wanted. He began to spout the Bible and throw back beers like they were water. He smoked and gambled and attended church every time the doors opened.
When he was just eighteen, however, Jackson took a challenge too big for him. Richard had gotten sick, and the family was in desperate need for money. Jackson went to hunt by himself and ended up losing a leg, much to his father's displeasure. A year later, his sister ran away, a move Jackson followed when he reached age twenty.
At twenty-two, Jackson was out touring the Midwest when he was attacked by something he could have sworn looked like a large cat. Though he survived the attack, two weeks of pain and sickness would eventually reveal that he had been turned into a werelion.
