FULL NAME:: Fionn Eochaid Mabson (Pronounced FEE-yohn OH-kahd)
NICKNAMES:: Finn, Fionna, Fi
GENDER:: Genderqueer
ACTUAL AGE:: Ageless
APPARENT AGE:: 18
SPECIES/RACE:: Fae
PREFERRED PRONOUNS:: They/Them/Theirs for most interactions, he/him/his while working his role as King of the Winter Court.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION:: Bisexual
FACECLAIM:: Em Grosland
NATIONALITY:: American
HEIGHT:: 4'9"
HAIR:: Blonde
EYES:: Ice blue
SKIN:: Pale
DISTINGUISHING MARKS:: Their skin is laced with a white marking similar to ice forming on a window, covering their arms, legs, neck, and back. Additionally, the ever-present pointy ears should remind others that Fionn is definitely not human.
APPEARANCE:: Fionn is quite small in comparison to their towering brother, Oberon. However, if compared to the rest of the family, they would fit right in. Fi looks too young and boyish to be considered king of winter, and could easily be mistaken for a teen just entering puberty (or perhaps an older tomboy with a penchant for trouble) but don't let their appearance fool you. Fionn's true form is a monstrous, towering hunk of snow and ice. They're just not that into such an aesthetic.
While amongst humans, Fi will dress however the fuck they want--sometimes this results in tutus and dress slacks, sometimes this is nearly nothing on at all. When in Avalon, they wear dressy shirts, vests, ties, and slacks, as they are almost always attending to important business and as such wish to be taken seriously. Their skin is covered in what would be best described as a tattoo in the pattern of ice crystals slowly forming on glass or in water, and this is more apparent when Fionn uses their powers.
PERSONALITY:: Since before they can remember, Fionn has managed to compartmentalize their personality. It was born of necessity, and now they sometimes find themselves wondering what their core personality really is. Because of this, they enjoy spending time in the human realm, exploring all facets of themselves, and using that period of self-discovery to further sculpt who they wish to be.
On the one hand, there's Fionn Eochaid Mabson, the King of Winter with a cold, ruthless, and tactical personality. While in Avalon, this is the only side Fionn will show. Masculinity becomes important to *him,* and he shifts ever so slightly to show it. This is all due to his grooming in childhood to become the perfect ruler for Mab, his mother dearest. He is an icicle among frost, an instrument of precision, and absolutely deadly.
On the other hand, there's the absolute mess that is everything else about Fi. They play with their personality in the human world as much as they play with their gender expression (and that's a lot). They enjoy playing tricks on humanity, usually malicious ones, sometimes ones that will benefit them in the end. They will be found in libraries and bars, strip clubs and temples, battlefields and hospitals, and will continue to be enigmatic at best, chaotic at worst, until they finally make it through what amounts to their delayed years of self-discovery.

SECRETS:: They were abused by Mab and have not told anyone this. Fionn suspects that nobody would even believe them if they did speak out, as they were groomed with apparent loving care. They think they might just be making up the abuse and that they had just been too sensitive as a child.

HOMETOWN:: Avalon
PROFESSION:: King of Winter Court
PARENTS:: Mab, Winter herself. They have no father, as they were made of snow and an infant's still-beating heart.

CHILDREN:: None
EXTENDED FAMILY:: Puck, Jareth, and Chrysa are their niblings, but all of the fae are related to them.
MARITAL STATUS:: Single
HISTORY:: Fionn Eochaid Mabson means white horseman, son of Mab, Winter herself. This tidbit of information doesn't mean much, but Fi finds it fun to use at parties when they can't really tell any other information about themselves.
Fionn was born of an infant's still-beating heart and the frozen snow of Avalon to Mab, who was intent on creating strong successors. Ice had no weakness, or so she thought, and had desired a male with no weakness. Fionn was groomed as such, and for a long time, he did things "right." He was strong, vicious, cunning, and unafraid, and Mab was proud of her creation. But as the years passed, Fionn felt themselves change.
Gender is a non-issue for most fae--if anything, females were often seen as the stronger gender. A changing gender expression or sexual orientation were nothing to be ashamed of, and Mab was perfectly fine with the way the subjects that she had amassed expressed themselves. However, when Fionn started to quaver in their gender, Mab took this as a sign of disloyalty to her, and disloyalty to her was weakness, and a danger. She, after all, had made HIM, had made sure HE was exactly what she had needed, a tool made of unshattering ice and unmelting snow.
This lead to physical and emotional abuse Fi had never before seen from their mother. As a sculptor chisels away at a block of ice, so Mab broke Fionn. Precision and accuracy cut through the pieces of weakness, and so they became stronger. "It was out of love," Fi frequently reminded themselves, "that she did this to me." When they presented as male and did not falter, they were loved, and so this ruthlessness became Fi's mask, shield, and single protection. Betray no weakness. Shatter them, and do not allow yourself pain.
When Mab was defeated by Oberon and Titania, Fionn should have shown resentment and anger towards their brother. It was what their mother would have wanted. But the inexplicable feeling of freedom that came with her disappearance was tantalizing, glorious. Fionn was released from the grasp of destruction, and the first thing they did... was cry. Tears--the definition of weakness, the product of melting ice. Unmasculine, unworthy, beautiful, wonderful tears. It may have been this display that made Oberon decide to allow them to rule over Winter's Kingdom. It may not have been.
Since being granted sudden emotional freedom, Fionn, also referred to as Fionna when in a more feminine state, has spent most of their time amongst the supernaturals in the human realms. They keep close eye on the Winter Kingdom in Avalon, but cannot handle being there for more than a week at a time, as they slowly revert back to what their mother intended. They do not want to be the icy monster that was carved out to be their destiny, and are determined to piece by piece make themselves a new Fae.

LIKES::
- Classical music
- Ice and snow
- Fucking with humans
- Learning new things
- Being appreciated
- Their strength and resourcefulness
- Being among many different types of supernatural beings
- The moments in life where they can relax
DISLIKES::
- Staying in Avalon for longer than a week at a time
- Fire and heat
- Fucking humans
- The term pansexual (reminds them of humanity's stories of the fae including Peter PAN and PAN the saytr, which, when applied to them, feels like a nasty, failed pun)
- Weakness in themselves
- What they become under stressful conditions
- The mundane
STRENGTHS::
- Resourcefulness in leading
- Nerves of "steel" (though steel is an iron alloy and would kill them)
- Unafraid of most everything
- Crafty
- Is capable of switching moods at will
- Can be friendly
WEAKNESSES::
- Fickle personality
- Pessimist when under pressure or scrutiny
- Viciously cruel when under tremendous pressure or scrutiny
- Extraordinarily childish
- Does not expect consequences for behaviour while in the human realm
- Does not read people very well

{ RACIAL SPECIFICS } |
RANK:: King of the Winter Court
POWERS::
- Magic Manipulation: While not as strong as Oberon or Titania, Fionn is stronger than nearly all other fae thanks to their age and status. They are near equal in strength with the other leaders of the Fae Courts, slightly better than some, slightly worse than others.
- Glamour: See above explanation.
- Immortality: Iron is the single thing that can kill Fi.
- Cryokinesis: Fionn is has become the definition of Winter after Mab's disappearance, and as such can manipulate ice. They bring snow to Avalon and can turn the water of the Fae Realm to ice in seconds. Their power in the human world is diminished, but still a force to be reckoned with, as they can bring snow to a limited area (approximately the size of a town) even in late spring and early fall.
- Aerokinesis: Fionn is the bitter winter wind of Avalon and can manipulate air temperature and bring wind to their liking. It would be wise to stay in good terms with this fae if sailing somewhere in the Fae Realm. Again, on earth their power is diminished, but it's said the towns they visit experience far cooler temperatures during the summer and harsh, bitter winds during the winter than nearby cities.
WEAKNESSES::
- Iron
- Inability to lie
