APPEARANCE::
Aside from xyr scars, Nova's human glamour is relatively standard. Xe didn't want to get carried away with it, and has not changed it much since coming of age. The only thing that would quickly identify xem as a member of the Fae race is the fact that xe will frequently create static charges when coming into contact with conductive objects. This, along with other reasons, is why xyr apartment is filled with wood and plastic, with very few conductive materials aside from xyr computer and technology, which is always placed on a rubber mat to avoid getting accidentally shorted out. Nova frequently gets xyr left and right directions mixed up, and therefore paints the nails on xyr left hand blue and the ones on the right white. This is also thought to be symbolic of xyr parents, who connect with these colors due to their respective elements.
Nova spends a great deal of xyr time in xyr apartment, and doesn't get out much, therefore resulting in a lack of overall muscle, especially upper body muscle. This resulted in a lot of humans misgendering xem when xe was back in America, before Nova could completely begin expressing xemself. Because of this, Nova is also rather pale, although when xe gets emotional xyr face can quickly become flushed a rather dark shade, closer to violet than the red that would be customary for humans.
Nova's hands are xyr most recognizable feature for a variety of reasons. The primary reason is the fact that on xyr left hand, the scars run all the way down xyr middle finger. However, xe also wears a variety of plastic and rubber rings as a method of keeping xyr element inside xyr body. The rings frequently appear tacky, but they do their job. Whenever Nova wears anything that is meant to appear metal, it is made of plastic or some other non-conductive material. This helps xem keep xyr power inside xyr body. Along with the rings, xyr fingertips are callused from typing quickly on computer keyboards and other surfaces. Whenever xe gets nervous, xe will frequently zap electricity to and from xyr fingertips, or mimic keyboard typing on any available flat surface.
Xyr true form is one that is only used when xe really needs to get someone, and it is one that xe, like xyr mother, is not completely happy with. Growing up around humans with human media, xe doesn't find xyr true form to be incredibly attractive. Similar to the glass formed when lightning strikes sand, xyr form spreads out in several branches, and is crystalline, although the shape does shift from time to time in regards to xyr needs. Nova has yet to find any functionality for this, aside from the fact that while in xyr true form, xe can travel along with currents of electricity at an incredibly fast pace. The only fault with this is that sometimes xe gets lost in the circuits, and ends up popping out of wall sockets completely disoriented as well as embarrassed. Understandably, this hasn't helped xem gain any more confidence in xyr true form.

Learning the languages of the decade, xe moved on to internet culture, joining forums and participating in early MMO's, where xe adopted the username "sprnova", although xe was almost convinced of taking a new alias after xe was kicked out of a form for supposedly hacking and destroying another user's computer. This was a half-truth, as Nova had actually lived near to the victim, and had just shorted some of the components of his computer. Nobody believed Nova when xe spoke the truth online, which helped a lot. One of the consequences of being online as a kid was that Nova quickly became used to human standards of gender and beauty. Xe began to dislike xyr true form more and more as time went on.
To satiate xyr need for a bit of mischief, Nova would frequently 'haunt' the homes and technology of people xe was insulted by online. This usually meant that xe would make their lights flicker, and their electronics turn on and off. This wasn't a problem until xe encountered a human that was actually being haunted by a human spirit, who subsequently contacted Nova. Nova became friends with this spirit for a few months before it left Earth, satisfied with its deeds.
One of the most vital events in Nova's past was xyr visit to New York. This happened after xe had traveled in electricity circuits a bit, and xe was amazed at the similarity between the subway and the electrical pathways xe had traveled earlier. The city even felt as if it was buzzing with energy, and Nova constantly hopes to return. Xe sometimes searches message boards for a vampire living in NYC who would be comfortable with housing a fae, but xe hasn't found anyone xe is comfortable with yet.

Anyone entering Nova's small apartment would know that there was something different with its inhabitant. It was decorated sparsely, but in a relatively normal fashion. The odd part about it was the large amount of plastic and rubber lying around. Rubber covered most wires, the floors were the sort of cheap laminate tiling made to imitate stone, and instead of the somewhat fashionable stainless steel that had been in style when the war had broken out, all the appliances were coated in a white paint on the outside to get rid of any electrically conductive material.
Apartment 23 was located in the relatively modern part of Dublin, although Nova had chosen the apartment purely for the fact that xe could run an business out of it. That was why a plaque hung outside the door, stating "Nova Ellis, Tech" With a phone number following the title. It was this sign that the decrepit earth elemental passed on a cloudy Wednesday morning, leaving a trail of mud and moss as it grumbled. The fae was so old that it was barely even used to the concept of knocking on doors, and instead simply clanked two rocks together outside of Nova's door, announcing its arrival. The appointment had been made the previous day, when Nova had been greeted by a rather exasperated pixie, who had obviously been forced into a job due to the seniority of the earth elemental.
Nova had been sitting by the window, leafing through an old tourism guide for London, when xyr customer arrived. Sighing, xe sat up, stuffing the book back into its hiding place under a chair cushion before walking over to the door and opening it.

The antiquity of xyr customers had led to some rather interesting conversations, one of which xe had almost ended up engaged to xyr customer's great nephew. Mostly, the older fae were satisfied making fun of Nova for xyr reluctance to appear in a less human form, something that xe resented every time someone entered xyr apartment. There was a time and a place for conversations about Nova's aesthetic appearance, and work was certainly not the environment xe would have chosen.

- Xe is good at manipulating electricity. Technically, this could be seen as being a water elemental, due to the ability to control the environment in a way that causes it to produce lightning/sparks. However Nova prefers to call xemself a lightning elemental instead of a water elemental, because xe doesn't see a reason to connect with the water element as a whole, since xe hasn't ever been successful with working with water.
- Typing incredibly quickly. Xe wears out a keyboard at least once every few months.
- Nova is good at keeping a conversation going. Xe will keep talking until asked to stop.
- Xe is good at fitting in with a crowd, meaning that sometimes if xe is feeling incredibly trapped by the situation in Dublin, Nova will go elsewhere to have a good time without being discovered by those of other races.
- Making people feel important. This helps Nova get what xe wants more frequently.

Anyone entering Nova's small apartment would know that there was something different with its inhabitant. It was decorated sparsely, but in a relatively normal fashion. The odd part about it was the large amount of plastic and rubber lying around. Rubber covered most wires, the floors were the sort of cheap laminate tiling made to imitate stone, and instead of the somewhat fashionable stainless steel that had been in style when the war had broken out, all the appliances were coated in a white paint on the outside to get rid of any electrically conductive material.
Apartment 23 was located in the relatively modern part of Dublin, although Nova had chosen the apartment purely for the fact that xe could run an business out of it. That was why a plaque hung outside the door, stating "Nova Ellis, Tech" With a phone number following the title. It was this sign that the decrepit earth elemental passed on a cloudy Wednesday morning, leaving a trail of mud and moss as it grumbled. The fae was so old that it was barely even used to the concept of knocking on doors, and instead simply clanked two rocks together outside of Nova's door, announcing its arrival. The appointment had been made the previous day, when Nova had been greeted by a rather exasperated pixie, who had obviously been forced into a job due to the seniority of the earth elemental.
Nova had been sitting by the window, leafing through an old tourism guide for London, when xyr customer arrived. Sighing, xe sat up, stuffing the book back into its hiding place under a chair cushion before walking over to the door and opening it.
Xe had never understood why so many older fae chose to have such primitive glamours. In fact, it was unlikely that this fae even was using a glamour at the moment, judging from the fact that it looked like more like a mound of dirt than a customer. Of course, Nova was used to this by now, it was xyr job to help older fae get used to the way things on Earth were, and given xyr ability with technology, xe usually just spent the hour explaining what the internet was to whoever decided to hire xem. The antiquity of xyr customers had led to some rather interesting conversations, one of which xe had almost ended up engaged to xyr customer's great nephew. Mostly, the older fae were satisfied making fun of Nova for xyr reluctance to appear in a less human form, something that xe resented every time someone entered xyr apartment. There was a time and a place for conversations about Nova's aesthetic appearance, and work was certainly not the environment xe would have chosen.
"Greetings, welcome to Nova's Adjustment School. You've signed up for a one hour lesson on human technology, yes? For this course, you will need to glamour up a pair of hands, and out of courtesy for your environment, you will also need to minimize water, dirt, and fire output of your body. Thank you." Nova droned, looking at the earth elemental in front of xem. This was going to be a grueling experience.
