HEIGHT::

HAIR::
Red
EYES::
Green
SKIN::
Pale, easily burnt
DISTINGUISHING MARKS::
Some light freckles across her cheeks, a scar on her left shoulder and arm (and wing, when shifted) left over from the Grunty Incident.
APPEARANCE:: Kazooie is a small young woman who looks quite like your stereotypical ‘hipster.’ Petite and cute, she often dons sheer dresses and cardigans that look lifted straight off of Pinterest. Additionally, she is always wearing a golden jigsaw-piece necklace. Despite the style choices, however, her fierce green eyes (and pure opposite demeanour to your stereotypical ‘pretty girl’) let others know she means business. She looks quite the balance from feisty redhead to cool trendsetter. When she isn't wearing her girly clothes, she's mistaken for a boy, which may be the reason she's so adamant about making a fashion statement.
Kazooie’s tufts of red hair shine through in her usual animal form. As a shifter, she could be any creature on earth… but she refuses, in most situations, to be anything but a flaming red bird of her own creation. The affectionately named ‘breegull’ (of Banjo’s imagination) is a strange amalgamation of a roadrunner, parrot, and seagull, with the bright red–orange coat of a phoenix. Her left wing is scarred from an injury during her battle with Banjo against Gruntilda, which she tends to avoid showing in her human form by carefully done makeup or a soft cardigan or shawl.
PERSONALITY:: Kazooie’s personality is the brazen, brash opposite to her tastes in adornment. While she wears sweet, cute, and classy clothes, she is a fowl-mouthed chick who speaks her mind and doesn’t often care who gets hurt in the process. She's not against pulling off silly to sometimes even morally questionable tricks on the people she doesn't like. She is adventurous and intelligent in the battlefield. However… she doesn’t tend to think ahead in other situations. This sassy, head-strong approach to life has gotten her in many tight situations and squabbles with those around her, with the exception of Banjo, who’s too laid back to hurt a fly. “I’ll insult anyone,” she says, “because they’ll bite me in the ass either way… and holding it in ain’t doing me any good.” She lives by this with little exception in her personal life. Professionally, you’d be surprised—she works as a music therapist and hasn’t fucked anyone up yet.
Kazooie is a bit of a smartass at times, and has a sexual appetite to rival Jack Harkness. These two personality traits would make for the perfect male protagonist of any action movie and lead to a happy ending, but not so for Kazooie. She finds herself pissing off those she’s trying (and failing) to flirt with, and in the rare event that she can keep her mouth shut long enough to get in the sack with someone, she regrets hiding her personality when they expect a submissive, quiet girl.
The one exception to her rule of “insult anyone” is Banjo, the werebear and Kazooie’s platonic life partner. His friendship means more to her than anything and she is fiercely protective of him. Around him, she’s simply sarcastic and a bit of a prankster—and he seems to enjoy her humour anyway. They get along well, and casual friendsex is not uncommon between the two, but Kazooie never brings it up herself, figuring that Banjo will suggest it when he’s willing and anything else would be pushing it.

WEAKNESSES::
SECRETS:: She and Banjo have a semi-regular sex life. If she were to tell anyone about this, the duo would have to deal with many more people telling them they’re actually in love—which is, of course, utter bullshit. Besides that, not many people know about her scar, or its history, and thus don’t understand why she’s afraid of fireworks.

HISTORY:: Kassandra “For fuck’s sake, just call me Kazooie” Zoelle was born “in the middle of nowhere” (the American Midwest) when her family still lived there. Raised by shifters, she was taught how to handle her abilities well. Unfortunately, they never managed to handle her. After Conrad Zoelle was transferred in his company to England, the family was uprooted and made their way to London, where Kazooie met her great friend, Banjo. In her early years, she was a sarcastic loudmouth who genuinely enjoyed life and adventure. She and Banjo spent a lot of time together, playing in parks and enjoying childhood. Her family had kept their powers silent for years and years, managing to dodge oppressive workplaces, until Kazooie, at the age of 16, made known her abilities to the general public. Her family had only one option in order to save face, and that was to boot the teen out of the house. It was the thing that humans did, after all.
Banjo took her in upon the boot, despite already having his hands full with his younger sister, Tooty. When Kazooie reached the ripe age of 18, an evil witch named Gruntilda (also known as Grunty) killed both of Kazooie’s parents and kidnapped Tooty for purposes unknown. This was around the time that the wars broke out—perhaps a precursor—but it sent Banjo and Kazooie on a wild witch chase. Eventually, they succeeded in defeating her and took back Tooty. It was not without losses. Kazooie was critically injured by a fireball thrown by Grunty, and Bottles, a shifter whose favoured form was that of a mole, died helping the two finally take her down.
It took quite some time for her to recover from her injuries both physical and emotional. During this time, she no longer was her adventurous self. She grew crass and angry, as opposed to her wisecracking but generally kind demeanor in childhood. The only thing that seemed to subdue her during this time was sex and music—the latter, Banjo encouraged. Using the money she was left by her family, she went to school (dodging the war in doing so) and excelled in making music, eventually receiving a degree in music therapy.
By the time Kazooie had her degree, the war was over, and she had come to terms with both her injury and the passing of loved ones. She had also realised that romantic relationships were just not what she wanted from life, knowing that she found something sexually attractive about literally everyone (“Is that even healthy, Banjo?” “You’re asking the wrong person, Zooie…”) but yet felt no desire or need to be romantically attached. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been very lucky in the bedroom, which has lead her to be quietly insecure about her sexuality and its implications in society.
These days, Kazooie’s life has been fairly simple. She works during the day. She goes out at night. But she’s been craving something… more. Her adventuresome spirit has started to return to her, and each day she considers dragging Banjo out to do something big, something different, something that breaks the mundane. But Banjo? He’s just happy sitting at home on his days off.

ROLEPLAYING EXPERIENCE::
Ahahahahahaha… very little. I apologise. When I was like… 11… I did roleplays on Neopets. Since then it’s been rare—I did 1 on 1 roleplays with Sunny for a while in my mid-teens… and even then I wasn’t very good.
ANY NOTES:: Ahahahahahaha… very little. I apologise. When I was like… 11… I did roleplays on Neopets. Since then it’s been rare—I did 1 on 1 roleplays with Sunny for a while in my mid-teens… and even then I wasn’t very good.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:: As she walked downtown towards her office, Kazooie was confronted with many, many irritating things. This was normal, as Kazooie was always annoyed to some extent. First, it was the construction workers—the stereotypical catcalling dipshits who expect you to give them everything they want and leave you behind in the dust, who use words like “whore” and “slut” as negative descriptors for women while they talked about how many of those “easy screws” they’d done in their lifetime.
She was an easy screw.
The thought was obtrusive—another annoyance, as she had worked so hard to build up her self esteem over the past several years. She tried to brush it aside, but to no avail.
Nobody cares about you for your personality.
She sighed and walked on, challenging that thought as it came up. “There are many people in my life who care about me,” She said quietly. “I wouldn’t be alive today if that weren’t so.”
It was all about proof, really. She’d come so far that all she needed to do was think about the statement, and then prove it wrong and it’d disappear. For a while, at least. Psychology was an imprecise science even in theory, and in practice, the brain created more hurdles to jump over than those placed in the 400 meter Olympic race. You needed just the right variables to fix it, and that was damn near impossible.
Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a dog running away from two distraught humans. In a city full of shifters and weres, you could never truly be sure what was and wasn’t part of the supernatural. Instinct told Kazooie what she needed to know. Those two humans were chasing after a shifter, possibly one that had kept the shape of a dog and been picked up by the pound, only to be adopted by an unsuspecting family. She laughed a little at the thought of it until she heard what they were crying out—“Come back, Sadie! Mommy and Daddy LOVE YOU!”
Jesus fucking Christ, this is going to be a long day.
