Banjo couldn't say he was exactly used to being hit on. Being not inclined toward sex most of the time, he didn't try to show he was interested in the vast majority of people. As such, the entire situation was quite awkward for him, and he continued to stuff fish in his mouth while waiting for Kazooie to take her up. After all, this was sort of her area of expertise--or, rather, expertease.
He made sure he wouldn't be butting in on the flirting before he said, "That would actually be pretty good. We are looking for a place to stay. Um. Thank you for the compliment, also, and it's good that you're not... too dangerous." As he cleared his throat, he added, "Because, I mean, dangerous and bad aren't exactly the same thing all the time. Sometimes there's some overlap, sure, but sometimes good people are dangerous." He was, of course, talking about himself and Kazooie. The bear-and-bird team could be quite rough to deal with if they were up against someone that had wronged them, and though that was somewhat rare, it hadn't worked out well for those that had done so. "So I get that, I guess. I'm overexplaining, sorry."
Then, once more, Banjo stuffed his maw with fish. He was nearly done at this point, so he migrated his mouth to his drink and took several long gulps. He was trying his hardest to keep quiet so that he wouldn't muck something up, as he wasn't trying to make it so that Zooie couldn't score a night with the woman, but he also didn't want to get involved himself. That could be quite awkward, sitting around while the girls were going at it.
"I'm really impressed by the place," he said offhandedly, trying to make sure that it was evident he was still interested in the conversation. "It looks really nice. I'm impressed you run it so well, actually."
